Roots and More

hosted by Bill Madden, features Americana music. This includes, but is not limited to, bluegrass, blues, folk, Cajun, zydeco, alternative country, and alternative rock. Playlists for the show can include music from as far back as the 1950s, but new artists and new releases are featured during broadcasts in the hope that listeners will discover, and enjoy, some music that they maybe haven’t heard before. Playlists for the show and other information can be found on the show’s Facebook page, Roots and More. I can be contacted at rootsandmore@valleyfreeradio.org

Wild Bill’s Honky Tonk

a combination of classic country from the
50s and 60s and classic country being made today, as well as
alt-country, bluegrass, and everything in between. From Merle Haggard,
George Jones, and Buck Owens, to Ags Connolly, Fred Eaglesmith, and John
Howie, Jr. (who?), the show will cover a wide swath of music, but all
with that certain honky-tonk feel, whatever that is.

The Town Crier

with Ed Malachowski

The Town Crier is a music-based show which aims to inform as well as entertain. I will let listeners know about the upcoming week’s arts and entertainment events. Expect conversations with these event’s planners and organizers such as venue owners, farmers, brewers, art galleries and restaurants. You can stay up-to-date and listen to a variety of great music too.

Words ‘n Music

with Dave Madeloni

The focus of Words ‘n Music will be on lyrics from what I call “Pop Poets & Literary Lyricists” from all genres of music. Each program will be thematic, featuring songs that connect in a variety of ways to a topic, with love, loss, and social justice at the core.
